A Festive Kickoff with Iconic Decor and Special Appearances
The festivities will transform Disneyland into a vibrant wonderland adorned with colorful decor, including a stunning medallion that will grace the iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle. The celebration atmosphere will be elevated by the appearance of Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and their friends, who will don new outfits designed specifically for this milestone event. These custom-designed costumes will be showcased in the Town Square, adding a personalized touch to the historic celebration.
The Return of Paint the Night Parade
A highlight of the anniversary celebration will be the return of the beloved “Paint the Night” parade. This nighttime spectacle is set to illuminate Main Street, U.S.A. with over a million radiant LED lights, showcasing stunning colors and bringing cherished Disney and Pixar characters to life. From “Monsters, Inc.” to “Toy Story” and “The Little Mermaid,” the parade features high-tech floats, vibrant costumes, spectacular special effects, and lively performances. Nighttime Spectacles: World of Color Happiness and Wondrous Journeys
Over at Disney California Adventure Park, a new rendition of the World of Color show, dubbed “World of Color Happiness,” is set to debut. Inspired by Walt Disney’s welcoming words from Disneyland’s original opening day, this show is a tribute to seven decades of joy and magic. Featuring Joy and the other Emotions from Pixar’s “Inside Out” and the upcoming “Inside Out 2,” this vibrant journey explores the essence of happiness through memorable music and moments from beloved Disney and Pixar films.
Additionally, Disneyland itself will host the return of the fan-favorite fireworks spectacular “Wondrous Journeys.” This awe-inspiring show celebrates the legacy of Walt Disney Animation Studios, taking guests on an emotional adventure filled with artistry, music, and storytelling. Featuring scenes from classic films like “Frozen” and “Moana,” and on select nights enhanced by dazzling fireworks, this is a must-see experience during the celebration.
