I’ll give you easy stuff. Just you collect here. You do that. You run, you drop something off here and there. You know you may have to lean on a guy. You’re good at that. You can make some good money,’” O’Neill recalled his friend’s tempting offer during a financially dire time.
However, it was a heart-to-heart with his father that ultimately steered him away from this perilous path. His father’s poignant question, “Can you do time?” highlighted the grim realities of the life O’Neill was contemplating. Reflecting on this, O’Neill remembered his father’s decisive advice, “You couldn’t do time, you’d have a hard time being in jail,” a moment of clarity that led him to reject the criminal offer and instead pursue his passion for acting.
